Minecraft Bot Hosting

Run Minecraft automation without leaving your PC on.

Learn how a headless Minecraft client connects to a server, what it can automate, and what to check before deploying it on Volyx.

A Minecraft bot is not the game server

A headless Minecraft bot is a program that joins an existing Minecraft server as a client. It can respond to chat, monitor events or perform permitted automation. The Minecraft world itself runs on a separate server.

Volyx also has hosting environments that may support other workloads depending on their configuration. This page specifically covers bot software, not a promise that every game-server setup is available.

Common bot projects

Typical projects include chat bridges, monitoring agents, AFK clients where permitted, and automation with libraries such as Mineflayer. Every project has different CPU, memory and compatibility requirements.

Automation should be used only where the Minecraft server's rules allow it. Public servers may restrict unattended clients or gameplay automation.

Understanding resource use

Some bots maintain a representation of nearby blocks, entities and chunks. Tracking a larger region or performing complex pathfinding can use substantially more memory and processing time than a basic chat bot.

Use the smallest amount of world data your application needs, avoid unbounded caches and measure memory consumption with your chosen library and Minecraft version.

Getting started

  1. Identify the address, Minecraft edition, version and authentication mode of the destination server.
  2. Choose a library compatible with that server. For Java Edition, Mineflayer is a well-known Node.js option.
  3. Build and test a minimal connection locally.
  4. Create a compatible Volyx hosting environment and upload your code.
  5. Configure required credentials privately, set a startup command and inspect connection logs.
  6. Add sensible reconnection delays and permission-aware automation.

Minecraft bot libraries do not automatically support every server version. Confirm version support in their current documentation.

Questions

Can this bot connect to any Minecraft server?

Not necessarily. Compatibility depends on the server edition, protocol version, authentication setup and bot library.

Will the bot reconnect automatically?

Only if the application or library is configured to do so correctly. Avoid rapid reconnect loops.

Can I use it to bypass server rules?

No. Respect the destination server's rules and do not use automation for abuse or disruption.
